Support
We’re here to help.
Kin is in public beta, so you may run into a few bugs along the way. When you do, here’s how to reach us.
Report a bug in the app
In Kin, open Family → Report a bug. It’s the fastest way to tell us what went wrong.
Quick answers.
macOS won’t open Kin Server
The first time you open it, macOS may ask whether you’re sure you want to open an app downloaded from the internet. Click Open. The first launch can take a minute while macOS checks it.
My iPhone won’t connect to my Mac
Point your iPhone’s Camera at the QR code on your Mac and tap the Kin link. That works on any network, even cellular. Or open Kin on the same Wi‑Fi as your Mac, enter the 6‑digit pairing code and tap Connect. If your phone asks to find devices on your local network, tap Allow.
I lost my license key or download link
Enter your email again in the download box on meetkin.app. If you already have a license, we’ll re-send your original email. It won’t use a new spot.
I forgot my password
Use your recovery key to get back in. We can’t reset passwords or recover data, because your password encrypts it. If you’ve lost both, another adult in your household can reset your password, unless you’ve turned that off in Lock & Security.
My child forgot their PIN
A parent resets it from the child’s profile. Kids don’t have a recovery key. A parent is the recovery.
I’m moving Kin to a new Mac
Make a fresh backup on your old Mac first. On the new Mac, choose Moving from another Mac on the first screen and pick your backup. Kin brings everything back, moves your license, and your family’s phones reconnect on their own.
What does Kin need to run?
A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or newer), macOS 14 Sonoma or later, and 16 GB of memory or more, with about 10 GB free. One that stays on and plugged in works best.
Still stuck?
Tell us what you were doing and what happened. A screenshot helps a lot.
